Magical Torchlight Walk Between Sky and Lake: From Nemi to Genzano
…and the stars keep watch
The Night of San Lorenzo, Saturday, August 10, 2013
Experience an enchanting torchlit walk from Nemi to Genzano, passing by the lake and its stunning ridge, while exploring the myths of antiquity. During the Ides of August, ancient populations of Lazio gathered by torchlight at the sanctuary dedicated to Diana Nemorensis, goddess of moonlight and rebirth.
Shuttle from Genzano to Nemi
Starting at 7:30 PM in Piazza Tommaso Frasconi
Departure from Nemi
At 8:30 PM from Piazza Umberto I, with a welcome aperitif of
strawberries and sparkling wine
Arrival at Parco
Sforza Cesarini in Genzano around 11:00 PM, featuring food and wine stands with
tastings of DOC wines from Colli Lanuvini, bruschetta with homemade Genzano bread, pizza, pasta, watermelon, and the enchanting sight of falling stars during the event “Calici di Stelle”
The registration fee (payable on-site in Piazza Tommaso Frasconi) is 5 euros, including a windproof torch, shuttle, and three refreshment points
