Thurston
Moore, ex-leader of Sonic Youth, returns to Italy with the band fresh from the success of their latest beautiful album Best Day, released by Matador Records.
The eight tracks that make up BEST DAY, Thurston Moore’s first solo album since Demolished Thoughts in
2010, showcase the two faces of Moore’s songwriting: one electric noise and the other acoustic 12-string.
An
improvised show at Cafe Oto in London to present BEST DAY was
described by the prestigious British magazine Uncut in flattering terms: “The album is excellent, and the live versions are powerful.
Great songs, and the feeling that Moore has found new
inspiration with his latest formidable accomplices.”
Thurston Moore was the founder of Sonic Youth, the legendary New York band that
must undoubtedly be considered one of the most
important formations of the last 30 years. One of the few groups that can
be truly defined as fundamental, seminal, indispensable for the
development of alternative rock.
In addition to his essential activities in the music world, Thurston is involved in poetry and publishing and teaches writing at Naropa University,
Boulder CO, a school founded by Allen Ginsberg and Anne Waldman in 1974.

L’album viene acclamato dalla critica inglese e raggiunge le vette delle classifiche indipendenti. Nell’89 vede la luce l’EP Love-Sick, seguito l’anno successivo dal secondo album I in
cui Alex e Rudy virano verso il pop, la dance e l’elettronica, creando
di fatto il genere poi definito DREAM POP. Nel 1991 la Rough Trade va in
bancarotta e sarà l’etichetta di David Byrne a pubblicare una
retrospettiva sulla band contenente 15 pezzi e intitolata Americana. Nel
1994 il duo pubblica New Clear Child (1994) e poi si scioglie.
Nel corso dei primi anni del 2000 vengono ristampati gli album di A.R KANE e nel 2015 Tambale annuncia il ritorno sulle scene. La nuova line up vede Rudy Tambala e Maggy Tambala accompagnati dal nuovo membro Andy Taylor. Nei live estivi A.R. Kane suoneranno i classici della loro carriera e nuovo materiale che sarà pubblicato nel 2016!
